Dedicated to championing the importance of effective communication skills, we believe that this starts from childhood when children are learning basic literacy skills and the confidence to communicate. This is exactly why we’ve joined forces with Bristol-based charity, Ablaze, to support them in tackling the inequality of opportunity for young people across the West of England.

As a Bristol-based company, we have a responsibility to support young people in our community, helping them to think and act differently and open up new opportunities. We are very excited about being able to support Ablaze who are so closely aligned to our own values and already making such an impact.

The partnership will see Speedsters support Ablaze in its mission to deliver opportunity and accessibility for local children by providing PR and communications to drive awareness of the charity, volunteering for its schools’ programme, and fundraising throughout the year.

Ablaze has supported thousands of young people across the wider Bristol region since 2005 with business and community volunteers delivering Ablaze programmes in schools across the city and beyond. These programmes aim to raise aspiration and attainment as well as improve skill levels to boost young people’s chances in continuing education, employability and life.

Sally Melvin, CEO of Ablaze Bristol comments: “Ablaze has been working for over 15 years to improve the aspirations and literacy skill levels of young people in the West of England and rely strongly on collaborations of local Bristol Businesses to achieve this. Working with Speed will allow us to grow and develop as a charity, build greater awareness as well as support more young people with hands on volunteering. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for us to take on board the support and advice of Speed to make an even greater difference to young people in the South West.”
