Some of our fantastic Speedster’s have signed up to run this year’s Simply Health Great Bristol 10k on May 5th.

There are a couple of keen runners and some casual joggers, but also several in our group who normally only run when about to miss a train or in mortal danger.

Why, then, would they sign up to run ten-kilometres around the South West’s biggest city?

They’re fundraising for Ablaze, an amazing local charity that’s captured all our imaginations here at Speed. We’ve recently joined forces, to support them in tackling their mission to address inequalities in educational and career opportunities for young people in the South West.

Ablaze works by helping businesses share their skills and experience in Bristol schools to boost young people’s aspirations, skills and confidence.

If our team hadn’t been given opportunities to develop creative literacy and confident communication as youngsters, Speed could never be what it is today.

So, we’re partnering with Ablaze to share the skills we rely on and use every day as a leading PR and communications agency. We’ll be providing PR and communications support to the charity, sending in some Speedster volunteers for its schools’ programme (more details of which to follow) and taking part in this race is part of our commitment to actively fundraise for them throughout the year.

And in the meantime, our fundraising runners will be in training (some probably harder than others) for their race on 5th May. You can sponsor them here, and follow their progress on our Twitter and Instagram profiles.

Good luck team Speed!
