We’re a passionate, creative and hardworking bunch led by a fantastic, hands-on leadership team that’s worked together for many years. Their experience, skills and industry insight is pretty awe inspiring. Check them out.
Roberta is hugely ambitious for Speed’s clients and staff and loves nothing more than helping both achieve their goals. Focused on developing Speed as a world class, multi-channel, multi-talented PR and Communications Agency, she is a true advocate of big thinking to deliver big impact. Active in the industry, Roberta is past President of international PR network www.27andmore.com , a Director of Bristol Media and a Director of The Together Group. Away from work you’ll find her in old clothes restoring old furniture and old houses.
Kelly has over 20 years’ communications experience and has worked for the last decade in building Speed to be the agency it is today. Chair of the South West PRCA, the body promoting excellence across the PR industry, she is passionate about the power of communication to engage, educate and make a change. Kelly loves nothing more than working with the team at Speed to deliver impactful campaigns that turn fresh insights into bright ideas. She is mum to gorgeous Isla, an ex-wedding singer, fledgling ukulele player and a terrible runner.
Sarah has over 20 years’ experience in the PR industry, mainly as a Creative Director. She has worked on award winning campaigns for brands such as Coca Cola, Dove, Barclaycard, United Biscuits and Diageo. Outside of work she has a garden that she fails to maintain and a kitchen that she fails to use.
Cat has over 20 years’ B2C and B2B strategic planning and creative communications experience. She has worked with a variety of brands from tourism boards, chefs, new start-ups and pubs to restaurant chains and industry bodies. Cat brings a love for food, trends and new experiences, energy, diligence and a magpie’s interests.
Laura has extensive experience of working with global blue chip brands; running reputation campaigns at global and national level. She is passionate about brand positioning and engagement, supporting businesses to carve out a niche for themselves in a challenging business world. Having lived and worked in India, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, Laura has a passion for travel, and exploring the food and culture associated with those destinations.
With nearly twenty years’ experience working within Consumer and Lifestyle communications Caroline has been there and faxed it! With previous clients spanning from rock n roll Jack Daniels, London 2012 and Crufts through to femcare and other health brands she loves the challenge that everyday brings. However, if Caroline hadn’t discovered the communications industry she may well have pursued a career in gymnastics (she was a national champion when she was 14 and can still do the splits!).
Becky has 15 years’ experience in consumer and brand communications leading campaigns for Virgin Media, Virgin Atlantic and Remington with a stint in house at Sky. Her strength lies in finding creative solutions to deliver business success and supporting teams in delivering excellence. In her spare time she is kept busy with her two daughters and a never-ending home renovation project.
With over 13 years’ working across B2C and B2B sectors under her belt, Helen has a wide range of experience in the out of home and foodservice channels. She has led award-winning creative campaigns and has worked for a number of FMCG brands including Nestlé Professional, Bidfood, Boots and Emma Bridgewater. With a genuine passion for food and drink, Helen is a lover of wine and enjoys cooking (but mostly eating!).
Kerry is a journalist-turned PR pro, with experience at leading B2B and consumer campaigns in the UK and Singapore. With a flair for media relations and a growing interest in integrated, multichannel content marketing campaigns, she loves nothing more than getting under the skin of a business, or diving through data to unearth a compelling story. Her decade in PR has earned her many accolades, including finalist in the B2B Marketing People awards and Corp Comms Young Achiever awards. Outside of Speed, she’s an outdoorsy type, who enjoys biking, hiking and planning her next travelling adventure.
Jim is a writer, producer and filmmaker with numerous credits including a feature film that received a UK cinema release. He has produced films for clients including Nestle, Braun and Tungsten Network and oversees _motion’s growing portfolio of video work across multiple channels and media. Jim also writes the popular “Friday Speed Read”, a satirical take on the week’s news that’s published weekly on Speed’s website. In Jim’s opinion if there’s anything more satisfying in the world than Shakespeare and garden centres then he’s yet to find it.
Working both agency and client-side, Laura brings over 10 years of FMCG and brand communications experience to the team. With a love for lifestyle brands and a passion for results, she works with our consumer and lifestyle team to deliver success for our clients. Laura’s personal interests are actually quite reflective of her client portfolio – she can often be found with a glass of wine in hand whilst cuddling her gorgeous little dog, Lexi!
Rachael has over 16 years’ experience in financial and professional services PR. She spent over a decade in communications at LCH, the London Stock Exchange Group’s multi-asset clearing house where she supported communications strategy and planning for global regulatory compliance initiatives, mergers and acquisitions and crisis events. Prior to joining Speed she worked at Vitol, a global energy and commodities trading firm. Rachael’s life outside of work involves the herculean task of finding ways to expend the unlimited energy of her two small boys, which usually involves walking the dog anywhere with an abundance of sticks as she finds that sticks keep everyone in the family happy.
Nicola brings experience of working with companies within leisure, entertainment, beauty, food and more! She was attracted to the PR world because of the fast paced nature of work and loves crafting great campaigns that will tell the right story for businesses. Outside of PR, she is happiest on holiday sampling as many local delicacies as possible.
Clare joined Speed in 2014 and has 13 years’ experience working in corporate communications, leading accounts across manufacturing, engineering and professional services. Her background is in setting up CSR strategies for global brands and working on cause-related campaigns, which continues to be an area of passion. Outside of work Clare loves road-trips, eating cheese and buying clothes that she doesn’t really need.
Getting under the skin of brands is what Tim does best. Using data to make an imaginative leap, Tim orchestrates our digital creativity including content, social and customer growth strategies aligning customer needs and journeys with award winning creative. Addicted to Post-It notes, his doodles and mind maps are things of office legend, while outside of work his ‘amateur at best’ DIY and ‘barely amateur’ card tricks are also legendary for all the wrong reasons.
With almost 15 years of communications experience Kimberley is experienced in driving strategic campaigns for national big brand names, as well as regional leading lights, across both the corporate and consumer spheres. Previous work includes property, healthcare, retail and destination tourism but her true passion has always been the world of food, drink and hospitality. It will come as no surprise therefore that she’s happiest meeting up with friends to try out the latest restaurant opening or doused in flour, baking cakes.
Potentially the most im-paw-tant member of the team, Lexi’s role is more about team cuddles than team huddles. When she’s not busy dreaming up the next big idea for clients, Lexi draws on her seven years of experience in being adorable to keep the entire Speed team smiling. Her favourite part of Speed life has to be Friday drinks and nibbles as there might be a few Speedsters that tend to ‘drop’ the odd snack in Lexi’s direction!
Julia has 12 years’ experience in developing digital strategy and content, both in-house and agency side. She is dedicated to ensuring her clients’ campaigns are successful online and working with teams to make sure transition is seamless as the worlds of digital and PR merge. When Julia’s not at Speed, she writes bad fanfiction and bakes good soufflés.
